About Fr. Vincent

Fr. Vincent Sunguti was born and raised in western Kenya in a large farming family of nine children. He has experienced both joy and loss in family life, having lost two siblings and his father. His mother continues to live in Kenya with one of his sisters, and his youngest brother, Henry, is also a priest in the Order of St. Augustine in Nairobi, Kenya. Fr. Vincent was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Eldoret, Kenya, on July 28, 2001, and will celebrate 25 years of priesthood this year.

In 2011, Fr. Vincent came to Omaha to continue his studies at Creighton University. Since then, he has served as associate pastor at St. Mary Magdalene and St. Margaret Mary. He served as pastor of St. Joseph in Wisner and Holy Cross in Beemer. Most recently, Fr. Vincent served as associate pastor at St. Patrick and St. Charles Borromeo in Gretna, while also serving as chaplain at Skutt Catholic High School. He was officially incardinated into the Archdiocese of Omaha in 2024. Fr. Vincent is excited to begin his new assignment as pastor of St. Gerald and looks forward to meeting parishioners, building friendships, and growing together in faith and service.
