Funeral Planning
We are here to help you plan a meaningful Funeral Mass for your loved one. The resources provided below will guide you in selecting the Scripture readings and music for the liturgy.
Scripture Readings
Please select one from each of the following from the Funeral Planning resources:
- First Reading – Old Testament
*Please note: During the Easter Season, please choose from the Easter Season First Reading selections provided. These readings are used in place of the regular First Reading selections during the Easter Season only. - Responsorial Psalm – This will be sung.
- Second Reading – New Testament
- Gospel Reading – Fr. Vince will select the Gospel after meeting with the family.
Please also consider whether you have family members or friends who would like to proclaim the First and Second Readings during the Funeral Mass.

Music Selections
Please choose four hymns for the Funeral Mass:
- Opening Hymn
- Offertory Hymn
- Communion Hymn
- Recessional Hymn
You may also choose a Prelude or Meditation Song, such as Ave Maria. This is optional.
The musicians typically select the music for the Final Commendation, although the family is welcome to make this selection if they wish.
Additional Considerations
Please consider whether you have family members or friends who would like to bring forward the gifts during the Offertory.
