St. Gerald offers baptism classes for new and expectant parents. The class uses the Called by Name© baptism program, developed by the Archdiocese of Omaha Family Life Office. The program provides an overview of the basics of baptism, focusing on infant/toddler baptism. It emphasizes the importance of this sacrament not only for the one being baptized, but also for their family and the larger parish community. Both parents are encouraged to attend. Godparents and newborns are welcome to join as well. Classes are held on the second Tuesday of every month from 7-8:30 p.m. in the St. Gerald Family Room (Library), located at 96th and Q.

For a baptism, you must first be a registered parishioner. To sign up for the baptism class and reserve the baptism date, please fill out this online form. Please have the form completed by the Monday before class. This is not a walk-in class.

Before the baptism, the sponsor/godparent form  must also be printed, completed, and returned to St. Gerald Church. Please note: the form must be signed by both the sponsor/godparent and the sponsor's Pastor/Deacon. You will receive an email with more information before the class.

When can I schedule a baptism for my child?
Baptisms are celebrated during our regularly scheduled weekend Masses. Please request a time during either a Saturday or Sunday Mass that works for you. Once you submit your request, we will contact you to discuss availability for your preferred date and time. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
