Welcome, Fr. Carl Zoucha!

We are excited to share that Fr. Carl Zoucha (“Fr. Carl”) will be joining the St. Gerald family as our new Associate Pastor beginning October 20. Fr. Carl comes to us from St. Michael Parish in South Sioux City, where he’s served as Associate Pastor for the past two years. His journey to the priesthood has been anything but ordinary — a story shaped by service, faith, and a few unexpected turns along the way!

Fr. Carl Zoucha was born and raised in Columbus, Neb.  He is the second of five children of Raphael and Lorraine Zoucha.  He went to St. Anthony's grade school and Scotus Catholic High School. After high school, Fr. Carl studied building construction and worked in the field before serving in the U.S. Army from 1984 to1988 as a heavy equipment operator. Following his military service, he earned a degree in Computer Engineering at UNO, where his involvement in Catholic Campus Ministry reignited his faith and inspired his call to the priesthood.

He later attended Mundelein Seminary near Chicago and was ordained on June 6, 1998. Since then, Fr. Carl has joyfully served at several parishes across the Archdiocese, including St. Patrick in Fremont, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Assumption, Divine Mercy in Schuyler, and Holy Name.

“I’m excited to serve the people and parish of St. Gerald, alongside Fr. Mark and the leadership team,” shares Fr. Carl. “I look forward to getting to know everyone and growing in faith together.”
