The Grief Ministry is a group of parishioners who volunteer to serve as prayer companions for our families who have lost a loved one. Members of this ministry pray for the deceased members of our parish and their families. The families also receive cards and grief-related booklets during the first year of the loss. A Memorial cross is placed in our Church Sanctuary at 96th & Q with their loved one’s name and birth/death dates on it. The cross remains there as a reminder that the parish keeps our deceased close in prayer. On the one-year anniversary of the passing of their loved one, the Memorial Cross is presented to the family during a Mass offered for their loved one’s intention. The families are invited to attend our annual All Souls Mass held in early November as we remember our deceased parishioners.
