Mission Statement

We, the Women's Social & Service Group of St. Gerald Parish, provide opportunities to gather in social activities as well as service activities benefiting our parish and community. Through these activities we hope to foster friendships with fellow women parishioners in order to enhance the welcoming spirit of our parish.

This group meets on the third Thursday of the month at 10:00 a.m. at one of the members home. We have a wonderful group of women and would welcome more. The books planned are:

KNITTING and CROCHETING

Meets the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month in the church Library/Family Rooom from 6:30-10 P.M.

You are welcome to work on your own projects or join in on some of our ongoing service projects. We are making baby afghans for EPS and One World Community Health; hats, scarves and mittens for the homeless and other agencies/schools in need; pot holders and dish cloths for the Palm Sunday Funeral Bake Sale.

You are welcome to come and learn new techniques. We recently had a workshop for knitting on a loom. We have looms available for learning this skill.

If you'd like to donate yarn for these projects, please contact Paula or Mary Kay.

LADIES' LUNCHEON

The Ladies' Luncheon group organizes special events for all the women of our parish.

We are looking for people to help plan and organize our next event.

NEEDLEWORK GROUP

Walker totes are available to parishioners. If you are in need of a walker tote, please contact JoAnn.

You are welcome to work on your own projects or join us in our on-going service projects.

Other projects include making dresses for girls in Africa and prayer mats for our school and religious education students.

WALKING GROUP

Friday mornings at 8:00 at La Vista Rec Center, 81st and Park View Blvd (go east and you will see it). Walk about an hour or however long you are available.
Walking is free but there is a small charge for anyone wanting to use the equipment. Everyone must check in and get a number at the door.
