Marriage
St. Gerald's is really excited to be a part of helping you prepare for a joy filled marriage. The Vision at St. Gerald's is:
Encountering Jesus, Making Disciples, and Transforming Lives. We are dedicated to helping couples, like yourselves, to
Encounter Jesus through your marriage preparation. We also want to help you to grow into what it means to live as
Disciples of Jesus Christ in your everyday married life. Your marriage and family has a great mission. You are called to
Transform Lives!
Once you've completed the
online registration form and you've met with a priest and filled out the initial interview paperwork, then we would ask you to take a moment to
choose a date for CLASS #1 and another date for CLASS #2.
To set a wedding date at St. Gerald Catholic Church, you must be a registered parishioner. According to the Archdiocesan guidelines and to ensure adequate preparation for this very important Sacrament, you must make arrangements at least six months ahead of the marriage date. Special instructions are required for any Catholic party under 19 years of age. No date can be set for this marriage. A civil marriage license should be obtained two weeks in advance of marriage.
Baptisms
Baptism class is held on the second Wednesday of every month in the multi-purpose room at the Church on 96th and Q. For a baptism, you must first be a registered parishioner. To register for the baptism class and reserve the baptism date, please fill out
this online form. The form can also be found in the kiosk at church or in
this brochure. Please return the form to the business office or "copy and paste" it into an email to office@stgerald.org. The baptism registration form MUST be completed and turned in by the Monday before the baptism class. This is not a walk-in class.
Before the class you need to watch two videos at
www.formed.org (parish code 9db506). The videos are found under "Programs" > "The Sacraments" > "Reborn" or simply use the links below.
The 1st video is
"Reborn - Session 1: A New Creation: The Mystery of Baptism"
The 2nd video is
"Reborn - Session 2: Entering the Mystery: The Rite Explained"
We will be discussing the videos in the class.
Before the baptism, the
sponsor/godparent form must also be returned to St Gerald Church. It needs to be signed by both the sponsor/godparents and by the sponsor's Pastor/Deacon. An email with more information will be sent to you before the class.
Ministry to the Sick
If you, a relative or friend are hospitalized or shut-in, short or long term, and would like a visit from a Priest, please call the parish office at 402-331-1955.
